This alloy is used where one or more of the following properties are important… resistance to corrosion, resistance to oxidation, ease of fabrication, prevention of product contamination, good strength and tougness at cryogenic tempatures, high strength with low weight, ease of cleaning and appearance. 304 SS is widely used in equipment and utensils for processing and handling of food, beverages and dairy products. Heat exchangers, piping, tanks and other process equipment in contact with fresh water also utilize these alloys. Building facades and other architectural and structural applications exposed to non-marine atmospheres also heavily utilize the 304 SS alloy. We use 304 Alloy, Full Hard with tensile strength minimum 185,000 psi, Yield strength minimum .2% offset 140,000 psi and % elongation in 2" minimum of 3%. Our 304 SS conforms to AMS-5913 and ASTM-A-666.
