Our newest arrival (Haas VF-4 Super Speed) vertical machining center has 50" x 20" x 25" (1270 x 508 x 635 mm) travel with an Automatic Pallet Changer. It is built utilizing vibration-damping cast-iron components. Like every Haas machine, the VF-4 represents years of ongoing refinement. Customer feedback, coupled with the relentless pursuit of perfection, sees advancements and design-enhancing changes incorporated directly into the production line every day.
The Haas VF-4 is a rugged, medium-sized vertical machining center that yields full reliability and accuracy in a moderately sized machine. The VF-4 has a 40-taper cartridge spindle driven by a 20 hp (14.9 kW) vector drive. The VF-4 produces either 75 ft-lb (102 Nm) of torque at a low 1400 rpm, or 250 ft-lb (339 Nm) at 450 rpm with the optional 2-speed gearbox -- and will also run up to 7500 rpm in 1.2 seconds for finishing aluminum.
Our Universal CNC Milling Center
is designed for a broad range of applications on the basis of well-tried technology. With
5 NC axes, it is ideally suited for the most highly efficient 5-sided machining, all the
up to 5-axis simultaneous contouring in no more than two setups. This machine has been
developed further, leading to a pivot speed increase of 40% for the NC swivel rotary table,
which allows much faster tool-changes. By giving the machine 18,000 rpm in the standard
version, High Speed Cutting becomes the machine's technological standard. The capabilities
of the milling center do not end here, however: with 1 g acceleration (9.81 m/s2) in the
linear axes, it reaches its rapid traverse speed of 1,968 ipm in a fraction of a second.
The tool traverses the entire length of all linear paths. The NC swivel rotary table pivots
the work piece around its center of gravity; as a consequence, machining requires no more
than 2 setups.
